I began boating when I was 7 on my fathers 19 foot Bayliner here in Arizona. We were all new to boating as a family and if we had the iPhones back then, the blooper reel I could put together would be awesome. From my dad throwing the anchor out and watching the end of the rope go into the water to my 27 year old mom falling off the front at the dock and my father grabbing a hold of her. These are the memories i’ll have forever. Every weekend in the summers we spent on Canyon, Saguaro, and Apache lakes with that little boat and I fell in love with Arizona’s water landscape. My first trip to Havasu, I stood on the London Bridge as a child, and watched the boats run under it. I knew one day I would drive my own boat under that bridge. A few years later we moved to California where my father bought his second boat, a Sea Ray cabin cruiser which we ran out of Newport Harbor. Our weekends were spent camping on that boat in Catalina and San Diego, this is where I learned most of my boating skills and was able to pilot that boat from dock to Catalina on a compass at 9-10 years old! I also learned how unforgiving a storm on the ocean can be…even in a big boat. We moved back to Arizona in 1994 and the boat was placed in a water slip at the new Pleasant Harbor Marina. This was where my love for the go fast boats really started to take off as I would watch them from the wet slip take off all summer long. I knew then for sure that the powerboat life was for me. I have over 32 years of boating experience and about 20 years of rigging, maintenance and mechanical experience. I also use to work on the side in sales and design for Sleek and Magic powerboats in Phoenix. I met my wife in 1993 in California. We married in 2010 and have 2 kids- Rylie 7 and Dylan 4, who are currently learning the ropes of boating as well. We live on the Peoria/ Sun City border in Arizona and I work as a Firefighter Engineer. I also have a side business dealing in high performance boats, hot rods, muscle cars, and engines which i’ve ran since 2003.
I started boating pretty much from the time that I was born. My parents always owned boats ranging from 19 feet to 50 feet and any size in between. My Dad, Bob, was always buying, selling and fixing up boats so the water way of life has always been in my blood. I grew up in Kentucky near Barkley Lake in Western KY. I did 11 Years in the Army as a Combat Military Police Officer (31B). I have two children named Kyler who is 23, and Chloe who is 12. I also have two grandchildren named Brayden who is 2 and Charlie we are expecting very soon. And of course my beautiful wife Melanie, we have been married for almost 2 years, and together for a total of 7 years. I am the owner of Southern Boys General Contracting; a drainage and concrete company that serves the greater Los Angeles area. I am currently building my new project, a 1987 38 foot Scarab KV/ Twin 700’s with TRS drives.
I am a Fountain Hills, resident , making it perfect that I am the owner of a Fountain boat! I am the proud father of two children; Madison and Logan, both which are currently driving and driving me crazy. My family and I prefer to spend most of our time on the water on on the trails with our RZR, but we are looking forward to taking our new boat into the ocean. Born In Texas, I have been on boats since was two years old. My love of water continued, learning how to swim in Australia and continued boating with my father for many years to come. I bought my first boat, an Advantage jet boat, when I was 18 years old in Lake Havasu. However, the first power boat I owned was a 28 foot Sleek Craft. All of my families spare time is spent boating all around Arizona and in Havasu cultivated my love of power boats leading to the purchase of my Fountain 42, a restoration project that me and my fiance have been looking forward to for a very long time.
